Our Dutch Oven Cookout Weekend
We had a great time cooking with our new dutch oven this weekend! Our first dutch oven recipe was a chicken pot pie...it came out great. We used a slightly modified recipe from Byron's Dutch Oven Cooking website. Here's a video of our results and first reactions from "the judges"...
Our second creation was not quite as good as the pot pie (that will be hard to beat), but we all enjoyed it...

Dana - What A Good Big Sister
Dana holding Faith. She's so good with her...were considering getting Dana up at 3am when the baby starts crying... :)
Father/Son Camping Trip (And Daughters Too!)
Here are a few videos from our (almost) camping trip. We didn't actually spend the night there - but we had a lot of fun!
Climbing a big rock when we first got there...
Exploring an "Old Spooky Shack"...cooperation was at a minimum...

Looking At Cows In Los Lunas
We went down to Los Lunas for Gretchen's baby shower that my family gave her. While we were there at my uncle Chris' house, the kids had a lot of fun with his cows...everything from getting licked by a cow, to feeding them!

Year Of The Rat Cake For Boy Scouts Blue And Gold Banquet
The assignment was for father and son to create a "Year of the Rat" dessert to use as the centerpiece of each table at this years Blue and Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts. We wanted to have a little fun this year, so with some help from searching Google I think we did pretty well...
Dana's Giant Balloon Ball
After Logan's birthday party, Dana gathered up a bunch of balloons and started tying them together. What she ended up with was a giant ball of balloons, all tied together on the inside. She and Maggie had a lot of fun playing with that for the next few days!
Logan's Birthday
Logan turned 9 (the final single digit year for him!) this last Saturday (Feb. 23). Gretchen made a great cake with a Pokemon character named Pikachu on it. Here's us and all the kids singing happy birthday to him.
Logan Singing The Pokemon Song...
It seems like Logan's getting all of the attention here...maybe we should call this the Logan Updates? Anyway, he has come up with an original song...using the tune and styling of the Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas song. It takes him a few seconds to get the beginning right in his head...but it's funny once he gets going.
(You'll also notice at the end, we make some comments to use later in Logan's life as we show this video to a future girlfriend)

Logan's Pinewood Derby Shark Car
This years car is, well, cooler than last years car. It earned Logan a 1st place finish in his age group...but ended up on a slow track in the over-all race and didn't place (the track isn't very good, and some tracks are slower than others). Take a look at Logan painting his Pinewood Derby shark car, and then the final, race ready version.
